Invisalign Alternatives

Invisalign has become an incredibly popular solution for orthodontic treatment. It can correct a wide variety of conditions, including bite issues like crossbite, while keeping a much lower profile than traditional braces. Invisalign has its downsides as treatment can cost more than the traditional alternative.

Alternatives to Invisalign

Today you can find eight alternative clear aligners that are available. These include traditional in-office treatment options like Invisalign, which still require visits to the dentist, as well as newer at-home treatment options.

  • Byte- Byte has offered innovative technology, personalized customer support, and efficient average treatment times since 2018. Those qualities have made them a well-known and respected at-home clear aligner solution.
  • Smile Direct Club- SmileDirectClub is the largest and most well-known home aligner brand. They provide the most convenient treatment available and have established a strong physical presence across the country. SmileDirectClub has transformed over 1.5 million smiles, but Invisalign still has more extensive experience and a much larger portfolio of results.
  • NewSmile- NewSmile is a newer company. It made its debut in Canada in 2020. Their low price, remote oversight, interest-free financing, and satisfaction guarantee have made an impact.
  • AlignerCo- Home teeth aligners are more affordable. This newcomer boasts the lowest price and multiple financing plans that can fit various schedules. They do not have the same level of convenience, but their low price makes up for it.
  • Candid- Candid straddles the line between at-home and in-office care, requiring at least one office visit with your dentist and using intensive remote monitoring. Their treatment plans are more comprehensive than the at-home clear aligners, and your dentist stays informed throughout the entire process, even recommending additional office visits if any issues arise.
  • ClearCorrect- When it comes to the in-office clear aligner options, ClearCorrect is Invisalign’s only direct competitor. Just like Invisalign, your dentist will develop and oversee your treatment, adding attachments or appliances when necessary to correct a wide range of conditions. Founded in 2006, ClearCorrect is not quite as experienced as Invisalign, but they have still been delivering quality results and offer a comparable experience that can be more cost-effective.
  • SureSmile- One of Invisalign’s oldest competitors, they launched clear aligners in 2007. It can treat the same scope of misalignments as Invisalign, and they say that their patients are less likely to need refinements after treatment. They boast lower prices and, since they do not have a specific mandatory scanner, your dentist can save money and pass those savings on to you.
  • 3M Clarity Aligners- 3M is not the first name that comes to mind when discussing orthodontic treatment. But their Clarity Aligners offers amazing teeth-moving power because of their unique attachment placement. Since 3M also makes Clarity Clear Braces, your dentist can also design a combination treatment that uses them simultaneously with aligners.
