What Are Porcelain Veneers

Anyone who has a problem with their teeth knows well how important a beautiful smile is in everyday life. We live in times where appearance is extremely important. And appearance often determines the path of our career. Due to the advancement and availability of basic dental services, nowadays everyone can enjoy a beautiful smile thanks to veneers.

What are veneers?

Veneers - these are thin plates glued to the labial part of the tooth. They are made of different types of material. The type of veneers used depends on the size of the patient's wallet, but also on their needs. Veneers are a great way to cover the aesthetic flaws of our teeth. Thanks to them, we can change their shape or get rid of a diastema, or when we want to lighten our teeth, or when they have traces of permanent discoloration, visible and significant fillings, not to mention cases of cracks or minor damage (cracks). Veneers are also used for minor orthodontic correction.

Types of veneers - and how they are applied:

  • Acrylic veneers are probably the least aesthetic and relatively cheap. In most cases, they are used as a temporary protection of the teeth before the appropriate veneer is inserted.
  • Composite veneers are made from the same material used to fill tooth cavities. They are characterized by a uniform color that gives the teeth a subtle artificial appearance. In addition, they are prone to discoloration.
  • Ceramic veneers are much more durable and beautiful compared to composite ones because they are similar to natural teeth. Resin materials are used for their implementation.
  • Porcelain veneers are the most popular and one of the most beautiful. They are characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage. They are flexible and durable for that. They do not stain; they are resistant to tartar and other deposits. It is important that the porcelain is tissue neutral. These rainbows reproduce the texture of a natural tooth phenomenally.
  • All-ceramic veneers have a tooth-like structure, as they consist of a layer of enamel and porcelain dentin.

How quickly do you get a new smile?

You can have a Hollywood smile after only 2-4 visits to a dental clinic. The procedure that beautifies your smile is simple and is limited to a few appointments in the clinic. During the first meeting, the dentist will assess whether there are any contraindications to veneer placement. The patient is consulted about his expectations, the possibilities and simulations of the appearance of the new smile are confronted. The second visit is essentially the creation of a test model of the so-called fake. Such a process allows you to get used to a new smile. It is also the stage where repairs can be made if necessary. If the patient has no comments, the doctor can move on to the next stage, that is, grind the teeth on the veneers (sometimes it is enough to only slightly matt them). The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The next visit to the clinic is already a pleasure, because you leave with a permanent new smile that will change your face and life. Of course, thanks to him, you will become attractive in your eyes, but also in the eyes of others.
